June 20, 2019 MFS: We love this place. Sometime we bring our puppies and sit on the patio by the water. Everything is fresh, because it comes from their market in the same building. Great food, Great Service.

Carmines La Trattoria In Palm Beach Gardens

Carmine’s La Trattoria is the place to dine if your looking for authentic Italian cuisine. Our menu is extensive. We have an enormous selection of Pastas, Salads and Entrees. All our Meats come from our Gourmet market. We also offer Brick Oven Pizza & Flatbreads. Our Wine List is sure to please all. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights we have live entertainment featuring Franco Corso or Gary Zagami. So be sure and make a reservation to join in the fun!

Carmine Giardini was born in the town of Vittorito, Italy in the province of Abbruzzi. .

He spent his early childhood there going to school and helping out with the family farm. As a young man, Carmine came to the United States and completed his schooling here.

Mr. Giardini began as a butcher in Connecticut and relocated to South Florida where he opened his meat market in Pembroke Pines, Florida in 1972. It originated as a one stop shop for meats but quickly became the inspiration and framework behind what is now a full scale specialty market. He realized that customers wanted more than a one-stop shop for meats; they craved a full scale specialty market with quality offerings of bakery goods, fresh seafood, deli items, and authentic pizza. So that’s what he did. He wanted to offer top quality meats, poultry and deli meats (he actually cooked the roast beef in his home before he could afford to buy a stove for his butcher shop). He figured he had all the deli meats, why not make subs?

His market soon became the place to go for lunch! That gave him the inspiration to take it one step farther. He hired a chef and started a prepared food department offering Italian and gourmet fully cooked foods from Chicken and Veal dishes, to his Momma’s recipe lasagna and meatballs, and so much more.

His idea was such a huge success he decided to open a larger location in Fort Lauderdale which was his 1st full scale gourmet market! Carmine added a fresh seafood department with fresh fish, cooked shrimp and Live Maine lobsters, fresh produce, pastries and baked goods, imported Italian and fresh cheeses, wines and a gourmet grocery department; he even had a salad bar!

He ended up expanding to 13 stores and the Palm Beach Gardens location was his flagship store at 16,000 square feet. He had a vision that very few people saw; he opened the Palm Beach Gardens location in 1988 on PGA Blvd when there was no PGA National, Gardens Mall or much of anything on PGA Blvd. at the time, but was a big success from the day he opened. People drove for miles just to shop there; they had heard about the uniqueness and couldn’t wait to see it. He had all the same departments as the other locations but wanted to offer pizza, so he hired a pizza chef from NY and put in a real brick oven and that’s when Carmine’s Pizzeria was born!

He started with a small pizzeria and eventually it grew to become a 4-star, upscale, white tablecloth restaurant that is now Carmine’s La Trattoria. Carmine’s La Trattoria has live entertainment on the weekends so while you’re dining on truly authentic Italian cuisine overlooking the marina, you can enjoy authentic Italian music by Franco Corso of Ventimiglia, Italy and Gary Zagami. Carmine’s Gourmet Market and Ristorante is known as “The ultimate shopping and dining experience.”

Carmine’s Gourmet Market specializes in two things: QUALITY and SERVICE.  Over the years, the quantity and variety of products offered has expanded considerably.

Carmine’s continues to address the changing needs of our established customer base with an increasing array of prepared gourmet foods for people who do not have the time and luxury to cook from scratch the healthy and creative meals they desire. We are always searching out and implementing new ways to help today’s rushed, yet health-conscious customers satisfy their cravings for fast, fresh and flavorful foods.

We come here once a week. I love dining in a Gourmet, Market Restaurant. Everything is always fresh. You may sit by the water, dine at the Bar or in the many dining rooms. Yes, bring Fido. The restaurant is pet friendly for small dogs. The food and service is outstanding.
