I’m Ron Crider. I’ve been a resident of Vero Beach since 1980. A resident of Fort Pierce in 1972. I have had the good fortune to have been reviewing Restaurants, Resorts, Hotels, Cruise Ships, and Travel Destinations since 1992. I have further been blessed by living on the Treasure Coast for over 30 Years, therefore I do know a thing or two about the Restaurant and Dining scene here. My primary career has been in Broadcasting and Communications. I owned Y-100 Radio (WMJR Then) in the 60’s. In the 70’s I purchased 2 Radio Stations in Fort Pierce AM 1330 and FM 98.7 Now the Gator. During my tenure in Colorado, I met Chef Pierre Wolfe who was a well-known restaurant owner and Colorado Radio personality. Chef Pierre was doing a show on radio stations I owned in Colorado. Pierre Invited me to become his Co-Host. Pierre was also doing a weekend network program “America’s Dining and Travel Guide” on over 100 stations nationwide. For over 10 years Pierre and I traveled the world to the best Hotels, Resorts, and Restaurants meeting dozens of world-renowned Chefs. That’s the short story.

Pierre and I did several live radio programs on board the Oceania, “Marina”. Chef Pepin who became our friend over the years both at the Aspen Food and Wine Festival and on the road, he was our mentor aboard the ship.

My favorite small hotel is located in Versailles it’s the Trianon Palace Hotel. The Michelin-starred French cuisine at Gordon Ramsay au Trianon in the Hotel is the BEST!
Aspen Food & Wine Festival. We broadcast live from here 10 years straight.
Get this Tom Ryder started the Aspen Food and Wine Festival. He also started Food and Wine Magazine. Yes, and you can see him almost daily at Ryders Gourmet Market on Cardinal.
Jacques Pepin, Marcella Hazan, Dana Cowin (Editor of Food and Wine), Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Danny Meyer, Daniel Boulard, Guy Feri, Andrew Zimmer, Eric Ripert. These were all the foodie greats we had the honor and pleasure of interviewing and hanging out with year after year.

Here I am with the ship Capitan and my daughter Lisa Crider Brown in 2000. 3 days at sea doing nothing but eating, interviewing, and enjoying life. We left Miami and headed to the Bahamas but never saw any land. This cruise was only for invited press guests. We were honored to be included.

This is one of our favorite hotels in London, along with the Capital (Near Harrods), Claridge’s. If you are looking for a real traditional London hotel the Goring is the place. Owned by the same family for over 100 years.
